Inverlochy Castle

A fine and well preserved example of a thirteenth century castle of the Comyns with a quadrangular wall and round angle towers displaying the characteristic long bow-slits of the period. One of the towers, larger than the rest, forms the donjon. The castle has an eventful history dating from the War of Independence and was the scene of Montrose's great victory over the Campbells on 2nd
February,1645. Located one and a half miles north-east of Fort William and l and a half miles south-west of modern castle.
