Culzean Castle

The most magnificent Clan Kennedy legacy is Culzean Castle, on the clifftops overlooking the Firth of Clyde, Ayrshire, Scotland. Built by Robert Adam for the 10th earl of Cassilis on the site of an ancient castle, it has been the seat of the Kennedy chiefs since the 15th century. This spectacular house was gifted to the National Trust for Scotland by the fifth marquis of Ailsa in 1945. This impressive Scottish Castle also has wonderful gardens and walks.

The apartment at the top of Culzean Castle was given to General Dwight Eisenhower in recognition of his role as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe during the Second World War.
