Shona
Shona
(f) This is the usual Scottish phonetic spelling of
Gaelic Seonaid, a feminine form of John which could be
anglicised as Jane, Jean or Joan. Other spellings include
Shonag, Shonagh, Shonah, Shone. In some cases, it
merges with Sheena, e.g. Sheona. Shona is consistently
used in Scotland, but the name has never been especially
fashionable.
