Sheena
(f) The usual spelling in Scotland of Gaelic Sine,
‘Jean.’ It also occurs as Sheana, Sheenah, Sheenagh,
Shena, Sheona, Shiona, Shione. Sheena was ranked
74th in Scotland in 1935 and it held the same position in
1958. In the 1970’S the spelling Sheona appears to have
gained ground. Seonaid, which is also used, is a Gaelic
form of Janet.
