Scottish Wedding Photography
Neil Fordyce, Scottish Wedding Photographer
Some
years ago Neil Fordyce introduced reportage photography, a true
journalistic style, into Scottish wedding photography. All the
reportage images he takes are real, they are not acted or faked
in any way. It is simply a matter of having the vision to see
a story unfold and to be able to tell that story in one decisive
image.
The
inspiration for Neil's reportage style comes from his background
in television whereby the story line and key actions of a film
are plotted out as a sequence of still images to create a story
board. It was from this simple idea that Neil created the reportage
wedding. Images of the bride's flowers, shoes and the bride's
dress hanging on a wardrobe door mixing perfectly with images
of the guests enjoying the reception, the grooms mother sorting
his tie and the chaos as bride and bridesmaids prepared to leave.
These
reportage elements Neil blends seamlessly with romantic images
of the bride and groom and informal groups with the parents, friends
and relatives to tell the real story of the wedding day all taken
in the relaxed manner that has become one of his hallmarks.
To
ensure that each and every wedding runs smoothly Neil researches
his venues in advance of the wedding and will meet with the bride
and groom to discuss their requests and formulate a plan. While
Neil's photography is clearly important to the bride and groom
Neil is also very aware that this is the bride and grooms big
day and there are time restraints and the happy couple will want
to spend time mixing with their friends and relatives too.
