Patricia
Patricia
(f) The feminine form of Patrick. The French
Patrice is also used occasionally in Scotland. Patricia was
ranked 17th in Scotland in 1925, 13th in 1958. It has since fallen
out of favour, not only in Scotland but in all other English-speaking
countries.
Of
its pet forms, Trish and Tricia are currently far more in vogue
than Pat. Some Scottish parents in the late 1970’s have
used Tricia as an independent name.
