Patrick was born in 1831 in Buckhaven, Fife . He became
a baker in Buckhaven, then moved to Leven where he opened a
business as a bookseller before becoming interested in photography.
Archibald
Hugh MacLucas was a prominent Member of Edinburgh Photogrpahic
Society for many years.
Sir
David
Brewster was elected first President of the Photographic
Society of Scotland, from its foundation in 1856, and remained
its President until the Society was wound up in 1873.
Hill
& Adamson. Between
1843 and 1847, Hill & Adamson produced several thousand
calotype
prints. Here are a few that have particular relevance to
the history of photography and photographic societies in Edinburgh.
