Prodigious writer who by her efforts supported her invalid husband,
the families of her two dissolute brothers, and her own children,
all of whom predeceased her. The supernatural was her particular
interest, and she wrote 93 novels, over 30 short stories, biographies,
histories, reviews, essays and articles.
