Scottish Cooking, Free Kirk Pudding

3 tbsps. plain flour

3 tbsps. sugar
6 tbsps. fresh bread crumbs
3 tbsps. currants
3 tbsps. raisins
a little orange or lemon peel
5 tsp shredded suet
a pinch of salt
I level tsp. baking noda
1 tsp. mixed spice
1 egg milk

Combine all dry ingredients, fruit, spice, and peel Beat the egg and mix with enough milk to make ; stiff dough when added to dry mixture. Turn into ; greased mould and steam for 3 hours.
