Josephine (f) This feminine form of Joseph is a Scottish
and Irish name by use. In Scotland it was most used in the early part of the century. The 1935 name count put it in 57th position; by 1958 it had fallen to 8oth place. It is still being used, but not in great numbers. Josepha is an occasional variant. The pet forms include Jo and Josie.
