Joseph

Joseph (m) Hebrew, ‘Jehovah increases.’ A very great
favourite in Scotland until recent times. The name was in
18th position in 1858, 13th in 1935, 23rd in 1958. Sub-
sequently it fell out of fashion. In England and Wales the
name has been little used since 1930.
