Highland Cordial (Traditional Recipe)
White
currants, lemon, ginger, sugar, whisky. Take a pint of white currants
stripped of their stalks, the thin peel of a lemon, a teaspoonful
of essence of ginger, and a bottle of whisky. Mix and stand for
forty-eight hours. Strain, add a pound of loaf sugar, and stand
for a day to dissolve. Bottle and cork. It will be ready in three
months, but will keep longer.
