Dugald Baird
(1899—1986)

Pioneer of maternity and neonatal care Greenock-born obstetrician who did pioneering research into maternal and infant mortality, and neonatal care. He advocated universal access to contraception and was a leading advocate of reform of the abortion laws in the 1960s. His findings and methods still influence maternity care today.
