Cameron

Cameron
(m) This Scottish surname, now frequently
used as a Christian name in Scotland and elsewhere in
the English-speaking world, is usually explained as Gaelic
cam shron, ‘crooked nose.’ Black (Surnames of Scotland)
thinks this may be true of the Highland clan name, but
suggests that as a Lowland surname it may derive from a
placename meaning ‘crooked stream.’
