Breadalbane - maybe !

In ancient times the tenants of Lord Breadalbane having applied to him for a reduction of rent, had occasion to
dine together, before their landlord and chief had sent his reply. When they proposed his health, therefore, they
gave it in these cautious words,

“Breadalbane — maybe, we'll see.”
