Bonar Bridge, Scotland

Bonar Bridge, in Sutherland, spans the channel connect-
ing the Inner Dornoch Firth with the Kyle of Sutherland,
replacing one built originally by Telford. Before its con-
struction there occurred the Meikie Ferry disaster, in 1809, when 99 lives were lost.
