Oatmeal,
sugar, milk, water, nutmeg. Put a teaspoonful of oatmeal into
a tumbler with the same quantity or less of sugar. Pour in half
a gill of good milk, stir to the thickness of cream, and then
pour in boiling water, stirring till the tumbler is full. Lastly
grate a very little nutmeg over it. Do not drink it too hot. It
should be the temperature of milk from the cow. This is a wholesome
and nutritious beverage.
