Benjamin
Benjamin
(m) Hebrew, ‘son of the right hand.’ A
nineteenth-century favourite in Scotland, and a name which has
been very fashionable in the rest of the English- speaking world
in the 1970’s. In Scotland it was 75th most frequentlyused
name in 1930s, but by 1958 it was little used and subsequently
it seems to have gone out of fashion completely. It is highly
likely to return to favour in the future.
