Barry

Barry (m) Also Barrie (a form occasionally used for
girls). There is an Irish name Bearach or Bearaigh,
from bear, ‘spear or javelin,’ but use of this name in
Scotland is often a transference of the Scottish surname,
which in turn derives from the placename Barry (in Angus).
