Visit Applecross
Map of this area

Applecross Cattle PassAt the head of Loch Kishorn, to the north ofArdarroch, an unclassified road turns off the A896 and crosses the Applecross peninsula via Bealach-na Bo (2040 feet). The pass, whose Gaelic name means 'pass of the cattle', offers spectacular views of Beinn Bhan (2940 feet), moorland scattered with small lochs, fjords to the southeast, and the Isle of Skye beyond the Island of Raasay. The road follows the edge of the peninsula, running along the shores of Lochs Torrison and Sheildag, and rejoins the A896 just south of Shieldaig.

This area has rugged beauty and the charm of the small isolated village of Applecross itself.
