Fingask Castle date from the late 17th century. The 19th century topiary, woodland gardens, trees, and the great lawns around the
castle
are all worth a visit. Stuart Threipland (1716-1805), the son of Sir David Threipland, second baronet of Fingask Castle, was an ardent
Jacobite.
He accompanied Prince Charles Edward Stuart during the Jacobite uprising of 1745 and went into exile shortly after the battle of
Culloden
